This tamper-resistant outlet features a UL-certified safety shutter system that prevents foreign objects from being inserted. The shutters only open when two prongs are inserted simultaneously, ensuring enhanced safety. Its longer and wider strap provides 40% more contact surface with the wall panel, virtually eliminating floating installations. Made from high-impact thermoplastic, it is highly durable and resistant to breakage. The terminal screws are pre-loosened and ready for wiring. It meets NEC® 2017 and 2020 standards, which require all non-locking 15A and 20A, 125V and 250V outlets in residential units to be tamper-resistant. The Tri-combo screws accept slotted, Phillips, and Robertson tools for flexible installation.
